Share Your Love for Independents
During lockdown we were delighted to be asked to take part in a video highlighting the work of independent optometrists and dispensing opticians.
The video was the idea of SightCare, a business association representing approximately 400 independent practices.
In all, 35 Sightcare member practices shared on camera what it means to be an independent. It also reveals how practices have helped the community during the pandemic. This includes delivering contact lenses, fixing broken spectacles and providing eye care to key workers.
Although Stephen only had to deliver one line for the camera, it still took several takes as we ended up in fits of laughter on each occasion!
Sightcare Chief Executive John French said: “Independent small businesses are the heart of the high street throughout the UK. Being an independent business takes courage and strength and many are struggling as a result of the pandemic. Some are no longer with us. The high street as we know it is under threat.
“Our video campaign, Share Your Love For Independents, aims to support a local high street thriving for generations to come.”
